How I Spent Christmas.

1

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! (since I didn’t get to say it at the proper time). I believe you’ve been great and you had a festive celebration of the birth of Jesus and the welcome of a new year.

For sometime before we welcomed the festive period, I’ve had to appear in people’s kitchens to help with one thing or the other and it was always a fun and fulfilling time for me. So, eating all the way through Christmas was another amazing time. Not just the food but the fellowship.

So, how did I spend  Christmas?

My whole heart desire was to spend Christmas with Internally Displaced People in the insurgence affected areas of my country which I couldn’t do but was still able to enjoy Christmas. I live far away from my parents and siblings so instead of going all the way home, I decided to spend Christmas visiting neighbors and  new friends made in the course of the year. on Christmas day, after Church service, visited a dear neighbor who served me fried rice with fried cow beef and Kunu zaki (a Nothern traditional drink made from millet and sweet potatoes).

Despite my desire to visit so many people, I spent the rest of the day sleeping and took some time out to watch programs on T.V. and that was it. Boring, you might think but I enjoyed every bit of it Because I learnt I can’t always have what I want and that love can be shared by anyone, anywhere even in a kitchen. Though I hope to have a better Christmas holiday next year.

so, how did you spend your Christmas holiday and what did you enjoy the most?
